New trees in Rice’s redesigned quadrangle (on the left in the picture) took a beating from Hurricane Beryl on Monday morning. Large parts of Houston are still without power today. After Hurricane Harvey, the streets were lined with sheetrock and flooded house debris; after Beryl, the curbs are instead mostly stacked high with tree limbs and trunks. Campus is operational, though with quite a bit of tree debris on the ground.
