I could be wrong, but I think this 1895 map of Houston is the oldest extant city map to show the “Festival Association” (the group of Black businessmen and ministers who purchased the land for Emancipation Park in 1872) as the owners of the land: Lot No. 25 in the James S. Holman Survey.
